Vinorelbine
is a chemotherapy drug that is given as a treatment for some types of cancer.
Vinorelbine is currently in Phase II clinical trials as a treatment for ovarian
cancer. Thus far, vinorelbine seems to have a wider range of antitumor activity
than the other vinca alkaloids. In preclinical trials, it showed promise in treating
patients with epithelial ovarian cancers and, in combination with the chemotherapy
drug cisplatin, in treating patients with non-small-cell lung cancers.
E-DMF is under Preparation

(3,4,5-tri-methoxybenzoyloxy)
As alkoloid obtain from the roots of certain species of Rauwolfia (Apocynaceae),
mainly Rauwolfiaserpentina and R. vomitoria, or by synthesis. The material obtained
from natural sources may contain closely related alkaloids.
It occurs
as odourless, almost tasteless, fine white or pale buffto slightly yellow coloured
crystals or crystalline powder. M.p about 270 degrees with decomposition. It darkens
slowly on exposure to light but more rapidly when in solution.
Practically
insoluble in water and ether ; soluble in 1 in 2000 of alcohol, 1 in 90 of acetone,
1 in 6 of chloroform and 1 in 2000 of methyl alcohol; freely soluble in acetic
acid. A solution in chloroform in laevorotatory. solutions may be sterilised by
filteration. Store in airtight containers. Protect from light.
Reserpine
and its preperations discoloured rapidly when exposed to light but loss in potency
was usually small solutions.

Intensive
combination chemotherapy with regimens including vincristine has been shown to
result in increased risks for acute nonlymphatic leukemia (ANLL). In the presence
of concurrent therapy with other putative carcinogens, including ionizing radiation
and other potent drugs, occasional case reports of exposure to vincristine sulphate
do not constitute evidence of carcinogenesis.

Sulphasalazine
can reduce the symptoms and slow the progress of rheumatoid arthritis and other
types of arthritis, such as arthritis associated with psoriasis. It may reduce
the inflammation in your joints and decrease pain, swelling and stiffness. It
is generally prescribed as 'Salazopyrin EN'. This is the trade name for sulphasalazine,
which is specially coated so that it does not dissolve quickly in the stomach.
